Erasing a student loan iPad
Purpose
To correctly wipe and prepare a student loan iPad (MCiPad 001–010) after it is returned to the Helpdesk.
1. Remove Previous Student Details
In Jamf Pro, go to:
Devices → Search Inventory → Select the returned loan iPad.
Go to Inventory → User and Location → Edit.

Clear the following fields:
Username
Full Name
Email Address
Phone Number
Position
Department
Room
Leave Building set to "Mitcham".
Click Save.
2. Wipe the iPad in Jamf Pro
Go to the Management tab.
Select Wipe Device.
In the pop-up window, leave the default options as they are.
(Do not tick "Clear Activation Lock".)
Click Wipe Device.
Confirm the final prompt:
OK → All data on the device will be lost.
Jamf will now send the remote wipe command.
The iPad will reset and return to the setup screen.
3. Prepare the iPad Physically
Once the iPad powers back on:
Clean the device using antibacterial wipes (avoid ports and speakers).
Dry the surface before handling to avoid streaks.
4. Set Up the iPad After Erasure
Follow the onscreen prompts on the device:
Select English → Australia.

Connect to SPN WiFi.
Continue setup until the device automatically re-enrols into Jamf Pro.
(This may take a few minutes depending on WiFi speed.)

Confirm the following appear:
If Self Service does not appear after several minutes → restart the iPad.
5. Return the Device to Storage
Once the iPad is fully set up:
Place it back in the charging station.
Ensure it is charging and in the correct MCiPad slot.
