Downloading and Installing Minecraft Education.
Important!: Please note that in order to join other users' Minecraft worlds, all laptops must be up to date and all laptops must be running the same version of Minecraft Education.

Staff and Year 7 Students

Download and install Minecraft from the Scotch College self-service app on your laptop.

Year 8 Students and above
- Open your ScotchLife > Student Helpdesk in browser (either Google Chrome or Safari) and scroll to Links and select 'Minecraft Education Edition' or navigate to URL https://education.minecraft.net/en-us/get-started/download.
- Click on the Appropriate tile to download the version for your device. Eg; select 'Mac' if you are using an Apple laptop.
- Locate your download and double click the file (named like Minecraft_Education_.dmg) to mount it to your desktop.

In the new Finder window that appears, Click and drag the 'Minecraft Education' app into the Applications folder. Enter your macOS username and password when prompted. If you have an older version of Minecraft already installed, click on 'replace' when prompted.

- Go to your desktop folder. Unmount the file by right-clicking the 'Minecraft Education' icon and select 'Eject'.

- Launch Minecraft by double clicking the icon that is now located in Finder > Applications.
Connect to the SPN wifi so that you can join other Minecraft worlds.
- Click on the wifi icon in your mac's menubar.
- Click on wifi 'SPN'
- Enter your Scotch College username and password.
- Click 'continue' to verify the certificate when prompted.

- You should now be joined to the SPN wifi network.
Log into Minecraft.
- Launch Minecraft from your Applications folder. You could also launch Minecraft by pressing the ⌘ and Spacebar keys together to bring up the spotlight search tool and then type 'Minecraft'.
- Click on Sign in and sign in with your full scotch college email address and password.
